QiGong

 Boost the Immune System, Get More Energy, and Calm Your Mind through QiGong practice.

 

QiGong " Cultivation of the energy of life" consists of Taoist exercises for well being and boosting the immune system, as a practice to cultivate and balance Qi (or Chi), translated as "life energy".

 

It is a healing art, a way of cultivating physical, spiritual and emotional health, that originated in China about seven thousand years ago and it is now practiced worldwide for self- healing. It is a basis for Traditional Chinese Medicine  --as working with Qi flows throughout the body’s energy pathways, or meridians, to help maintain essential health since a free flowing and balanced Qi energises the organs, systems and cells.

The practice of QiGong is a moving meditation which consists of slow movements designed and taught in a way that respects everyone’s limitations and ability, so no previous experience is required.

Through practicing these ancient and wise movements and connecting with the breathing we cultivate our energy so as to be in harmony with ourselves and the natural world.

In my classes we explore many different traditions of QiGong such as the Wild Goose which aims at strengthening the immune system, the Wu Xing (Elemental QiGong), The 8 Brocades, The 18 Forms (created especially to assist back pain, hypertension and lung conditions), the Animal Frolics and others.

Through practicing the ancient movements of Tai Chi we learn how to move connected with the flow of energy and how to balance the emotions and reactions to life's stresses.

 

 Based on the principles of yin and yang, the movements offer a chance to release old energy through befriending gravity and receive new by freeing our breath, clearing our minds to focus on the present moment and feel integrated as a whole.

My approach is by exploring the three different levels of practice. These include the martial part that grounds and stabilises us, the emotional which is the healing aspect and the mind which is the opening to the spiritual and inner vision.

Cancellation policy

Please respect the 48 hour cancellation policy, to allow the appointment slot to be filled. Cancellations, or rescheduled appointments made between 48 and 24 hours, will be charged at 50% of the full charge, appointments canceled under 24 hours of the appointment will be charged at the full rate. For the block prices the payment is made in advance for the whole month.
